“Make $10,000 THIS WEEKEND…! Ask ME How…!”
“Fire Your Boss…! Just Click the link…! Fastest growing company EVER…!”
“Lose 10 lbs. TONIGHT with Funky Munky’s latest, greatest product…!”
If you have spent any time, online, you have seen posts, like these… or have gotten messages, like these. Do you respond to them…? Did you click that link…? Have you ever bought that latest, greatest product…?
I may not know who you are… and I won’t know when you’re reading this… but I bet your answer is a resounding “Heavens, NO…!” And that is the point: it may be marketing (which is debatable)… but there is NO attraction.
So, let’s take a look at what Marketing is. According to the American Marketing Association, “marketing is the activity, set of institutions, and processes for creating, communicating, delivering, and exchanging offerings that have value for customers, clients, partners, and society at large.” The operative word is VALUE. Regardless of our business opportunity… our product, or service… or our target market — we have to deliver “offerings that have value”.
Chances are, we joined our business opportunity, to earn income by helping people. Chances are, the company behind our business opportunity designed their products or services, to make a difference in peoples’ lives. Chances are, our business opportunity requires duplication, through other people, to succeed. Regardless of our business opportunity… our product, or service… or our target market — we need other people. We can chase them. But that means they are probably running from us.
Even IF we catch them… and they join our business opportunity… or try our Funky Munky product or service — it will be a flimsy connection, between us. Now, if all we want is to have high recruiting numbers… or make a quick sale, then goal accomplished. But we’re right back to our game of tag. Is there a better way, to reach people…? What if we had people coming to us…? What would make that possible…?
I have learned it is possible to have people come to us. We can reach people through attraction. So, what does that mean…?
cause (someone) to have a liking for or interest in something.
evoke (a specified reaction).
