Did you know there is a difference between “having a goal”, and “setting a goal”…?
Having a goal is basically making a wish. Think about how many people you know, who have told you about a goal they have. Think about goals you have had, of your own. How did that work out, for them….? How did that work out, for you…? There isn’t much required, for having a goal — just say it.
Setting a goal, however, requires these 7 specific steps:
- Identify what it is you want. Then, write it down.
- Identify why you want it.
- Identify the obstacles you need to overcome, to accomplish your goal.
- Identify the people and organizations you need to work with, to accomplish your goal.
- Identify what you need to know, to accomplish your goal.
- Develop a Plan of Action.
- Set a “By when” date.
Can you see how working through these 7 steps solidify a goal, moreso than just saying it…? These 7 steps make any goal you have three-dimensional. Goals appear to lift right off the page…! Especially, since you’ve written them down, in step 1.
I hope you find value, in today’s post…! More importantly, I hope you execute the 7 steps, with your next goal…. I would love feedback, on your efforts and your results. Drop a comment… or reach out, on Facebook…!
